Bussing and Transportation | Updated Route Times

 
Route Time Update - New departure and arrival times for student bussing have gone into effect on Wednesday. Please check your updated time before then. If you have any questions please contact Dreams Transportation at 403-590-7433. 

Report Cards
Starting January 30, 2024, families can access and review online student report cards for Kindergarten to Grade 2 students. Report cards for the 2023-24 school year are available for viewing, downloading, and printing through your MyCBE to account.

2024-25 School Registration
The 2024-25 school year registration began on January 15. If your child is currently in NLC preschool to grade 1, they are automatically registered for the next grade at NLC. Let us know if your child will be attending a different school. In the next few weeks, we will be contacting parents of current grade 2 students to talk about their transition to grade 3 at either their designated community schoolor in an alternative program.

Did you know? 
- By grade 3, students with regular attendance are more likely to read at grade level.
- By grade 6, regular attendance is a predictor of high school completion.
- By grade 9, regular attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than test scores. 
- Students who attend daily are less likely to fall behind in school.
- Concerns with school attendance may indicate other challenges in a student’s life.

NLC Open House for New Registrations – February 2
We are hosting an open house this Friday, February 2nd, from 1:00-3:00 pm, We invite you to share the unique educational experience at the Niitsitapi Learning Centre (NLC) with friends and family who may have kindergarten or preschool-aged children looking to register for the upcoming school year.

Inii’s Insights
The beginning of February also marks the mid-way point between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Solstice. During this time the eagles are returning and beginning their mating season and building nests. Last year during this time we could even see Eagles flying over our school, all of these are spiritual signs to remind us that we are connected to something larger than ourselves, that we are on the path for new beginnings and ready for new challenges. This all aligns with the upcoming renewal that spring brings.  So when you are relating on and with the land, ensure to look up and watch for signs that supported the Blackfoot and Cree nations to name this time of year the Eagle Moon.
