Iinii Insights
Our Elders have taught us that Kimmapiiypitsiini is a Blackfoot teaching that means kindness, compassion, and caring for others.
It is more than simply being nice, it is a way of living. Kimmapiiypitsiini calls us to act with empathy, help others without being asked, make choices that strengthen our community, care for relationships and the land, and take responsibility for how our actions affect others. Our actions ripple outward and even small acts of care and respect help create balance, belonging, and wellbeing within a community.
In our school community, this teaching connects deeply to inclusion, restorative practices, student leadership, social-emotional learning, and our ongoing commitments to Truth and Reconciliation.

Celebration of Learning
Thank you to all of our families and community members who joined us for our Celebration of Learning focused on Kimmapiiypitsiini, a Blackfoot value that reminds us of the importance of kindness, care, and compassion.
Our students were incredibly proud to share their learning and the ways they are striving to lead with empathy, show compassion, and make positive choices each day. From small, everyday acts of kindness to meaningful reflections about their impact on others, it was inspiring to see how thoughtfully they are embracing this teaching.
We look forward to welcoming you to our next Celebration of Learning in April 30 @ 1:30pm
Book Fair
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out to support, shop, and volunteer at this year’s Book Fair. Your time, energy, and generosity truly made it a success!
Because of you, we are able to put more books into the hands of our students, support classroom libraries, and continue fostering a love of reading throughout our school. Every purchase and every volunteer hour makes a meaningful difference.
We are so grateful for this incredible community. Thank you for showing up for our learners and helping us grow a culture of literacy together.

Healthy Nutrition at School
Healthy food helps young children grow, learn, and feel their best. In the early years, eating habits also support brain development, attention, behaviour, and lifelong health.
Please Avoid Sending Unhealthy Foods and Drinks
To support learning and well-being, we ask that students do not bring foods or drinks that are high in sugar, salt, or fat. Examples include:
- Candy, chocolate bars, or sugary treats
- Sweetened drinks like juice boxes, soda, or energy drinks
- Chips, fries, or highly processed snack foods
- Fast food meals
How Our School Supports Healthy Eating
- 🥣 Breakfast Program available to all students
- 🍽️ Lunch Program provided daily
- 🍎 Healthy snacks offered throughout the school day
These meals and snacks are designed to support young bodies and developing brains with the nutrients they need to learn and play.
How Families Can Help
If you choose to send food from home, please aim for:
- Fresh fruits and vegetables
- Whole grains
- Dairy or dairy alternatives
- Lean proteins
- Water or milk (instead of sugary drinks)
By working together, we can help build healthy routines, support learning, and set children up for lifelong wellness. Thank you for your continued partnership and care.
