Iinii Insights

June 21, 2026 marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year and a time of deep significance. Blackfoot Elder Saa’kokoto teaches that summer is a season of abundance, a time not only for harvesting the gifts of the land but also for harvesting life itself. The experiences we gather shape who we are.

As the sun rises on the morning of the solstice, may we turn our hearts to the East, giving thanks for the warmth, growth, and possibilities that summer brings. Let us carry forward a sense of gratitude and purpose, embracing all that this season offers.

NLC June Field Trips

June is Field Trip Month at Niitsitapi Learning Centre!

Learning is taking us beyond the classroom this month as students explore, discover, and connect through exciting field trip experiences!

📍 Kindergarten – TELUS Spark Science Centre
🦁 Grade 1 – Calgary Zoo
🚂 Grade 2 – Heritage Park

These experiences help bring learning to life through hands-on exploration, curiosity, and fun. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn in our community and create lasting memories together.

We can't wait for a month full of adventure, discovery, and learning!

The Little Red Reading Van Visited Niitsitapi Learning Centre!

We were thrilled to welcome the Little Red Reading Van to our school! This special visit brought the joy of reading directly to our students, providing opportunities to explore new books, discover favourite stories, and deepen their love of literacy.

Students eagerly browsed the collection, shared stories with friends, and celebrated the magic that books bring to our learning community. The visit helped inspire curiosity, imagination, and a lifelong appreciation for reading.

A heartfelt thank you to the Little Red Reading Van team for sharing their passion for literacy and helping make reading accessible and exciting for our students.
