First Week of School
We are excited to share that the first week of the school year has been filled with joy, connection, and learning. It was wonderful to welcome back familiar faces and meet many new families at our Calgary Stampede Back-to-School Pancake Breakfast.
A heartfelt thank you to the parent volunteers who helped make the morning such a success by transporting fresh pancakes from the grill to the serving table and assisting with cleanup afterward. Your willingness to lend a hand helped everything run smoothly and reflects the strength of our school community. Many hands make light work, and we are grateful for your support!
Our students are settling in beautifully, building positive relationships, establishing strong learning routines, and engaging enthusiastically in their classrooms. We are already seeing the spirit of Iikakimat in action as students try their best, support one another, and embrace new learning opportunities. We look forward to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and belonging at Niitsitapii Learning Centre.
Iinii Insights
As we begin a new school year, we are embracing the spirit of Iikakimat, a Blackfoot teaching shared with us by Elder Casey Eagle Speaker. This teaching encourages us to try our best, persevere through challenges, and support one another along the way.
Iikakimat reminds us that growth takes effort and that each step forward, no matter how small, is worth celebrating. Together, as a school community, we will approach learning with resilience, determination, and care as we support every student in reaching their potential and developing a strong sense of belonging.
